Week 3 Trade Targets

On this week's podcast we all discussed a player that we would buy low on and sell high on. Here they are below:

Buy Low:

  • Shawn: Deshaun Watson - Deshaun hasn't had the start to the season that we all expected from a Top 5 fantasy QB. After a poor week 2 performance with multiple interceptions, you expect Deshaun Watson to bounce back. However, with another tough matchup this week @ PIT, I think he may struggle a bit and will be a buy low target for the next 2 weeks if there is a panicked owner in your league.

  • Matty P: Tom Brady - After a putrid week 2 in a favorable matchup for Tom. I believe he'll bounce back 100%. There are too many weapons on that offense for Tom Brady not to succeed. With Godwin coming back this week, I expect Tom to bounce back with multiple TD passes, so if you can get him for the low, definitely go for it.

  • Q: Jarvis Landry - On a short week last week, Jarv was only able to muster up 3 catches for 46 yards on 3 targets. I don't foresee this being a sign of what is to come. The Browns got up early and this game and ran it throughout the majority of the second half. The Browns will be down in more games than they will be up and Jarv will get involved again. He also gets 10 days rest for that hip issue heading into this week, if someone is worried, try and get him.

  • Tgods: TY Hilton - Full bias intended coming from me, I have a TY Hilton jersey. However, with Campbell out and Doyle still missing time, TY has to find his way this season. Philip Rivers will figure out how to get the ball in his best receiver's hands one way or another. We've seen him force feed Keenan Allen for years, I think TY becomes that guy. After 2 poor games, he still had 14 targets and I expect that to rise moving forward. If someone is worried on TY, try and get him now.

Sell High:

  • Shawn: Odell Beckham Jr. - I'm still cautious in restoring my faith in Odell. After being burned last season buying low on him, I'm just not sure he's the same guy we saw in NY getting 10+ TD's a season. If someone in your league still believes OBJ is a locked in top 15 WR and you can get that value in return, I would do it in a heartbeat.

  • Matty P: Calvin Ridley - LOOK, before you kill me, I understand Calvin Ridley has been incredible this season. However, don't you think his value is the highest it will ever be? Julio gets back on track at some point and the Falcons have tougher matchups ahead, starting this week against the Bears. If you can flip Ridley for someone like Davante Adams or Deandre Hopkins, do it. If you have solid WR depth and need RB help and you can get a Dalvin Cook or McCaffrey for him? DO it. His value is at it's peak, I think Ridley is locked in as a top 12 WR, but #1 from this point on? Most likely not.

  • Q: Cam Newton - Supercam is back and looks dialed in. However, where you drafted Cam in most leagues was probably as your second QB. If you have a top 5-6 QB already, I would look to move Cam for some value, especially if you were hit with the barrage of injuries this past week. Cam has a past history of injuries and the Patriots are running him a ton. If he sustains this pace without getting hurt, that's awesome he'll be a top 10 option, but if you can get help elsewhere on your team for him, don't be afraid to pull the trigger!

  • Tgods: Joe Mixon - Get rid of Mixon while you still can. This Bengals offensive line does not look much better and Mixon has struggled out of the gate. I know the volume is there, but a lot of people are hurting at RB right now. If you can still get someone to bite on "Joe mixon the first/second round pick" then do so because I think he's going to be more TD dependent going forward. The Bengals look better, but still not good and Gio has been more involved on 3rd downs thus far. I'm nervous about his success, if you can get good value, sell.
